Mrs. Blacquiere & Mrs. Sikman 6-9 North As September becomes a happy and hot memory, we look forward to October and all the new lessons that will be presented. Everyone has settled beautifully in our classroom! The Grade One students made a smooth transition from Casa and are already working hard. They have been busy practicing their cursive, writing numbers and have begun the Spalding program. Their culture study in October will focus on plants, exploring the solar system and starting their study of the calendar. The Grade Two students are back at work and easily picked up from where they left off in June. They sure have grown up! They are now ready to work hard and be challenged. Their culture study in October will focus on plants, deepening their understanding of the solar system and exploring the second level of calendar work. The Grade Three students have now taken on the important position of being the role models and leaders in our class. They are eager to learn and excited about new presentations. Their culture study in October will be focusing on mapping skills and learning about life as an early settler. To support their study, they will be going on a field trip to Westfield Heritage Village on Monday, October 23rd. More details will follow in your child’s agenda. We are very excited about the fall and celebrating Thanksgiving in our class. We will be preparing a soup for our Thanksgiving lunch, and sharing our Thankful Notes. More details will follow in the agenda. We are thankful for our wonderful students and supportive parents! Happy Fall!
