Mrs. Nagy Pod l November has been a busy month. Our study of Inukshuks has inspired the third year students to start work on their Canada projects. They have been tracing, colouring and labeling the provinces and territories. They then add each provincial flag, flower, and shield. It is a much-loved project and all of them have been working with great enthusiasm and success. December brings the much awaited Holiday Season. Many cultures have a tradition of brightening this time of year by celebrating with lights. For December we will be talking about a Festival of Lights and what it means in some cultures. We are also practicing our song and poem to present on December 22nd at the Casa and Lower Elementary Holiday Concert. January is a very productive month in our classroom. The children are happy to get back to school and are eager for new presentations. As part of Literacy Month, we will be talking about “Peter and the Wolf” by Tchaikovsky. We hope to develop a reader's theatre version and have fun exploring the different roles in this beloved musical piece. We hope you have a chance to practice your skating skills during the break as the full day students will have an opportunity to go skating with the school. Three-year-old full day children will need a parent with them to participate. Further information will be provided at a later date. Miss Waters, Miss Brown and I wish all of you a restful and joyous Holiday Season. See you in the New Year.
