Isabel Machinandiarena IB MYP Coordinator The IB Community Project journey started in September and only ended at the end of January. During this time our Grade 8 students found the opportunity to choose their own topics, follow their passion and put all the MYP learned skills to work. Certainly a challenge! Presentation Night gave them the unique opportunity to share their projects and learning with the Wheatley School community and shine like brilliant stars in the night sky. There were a variety of interesting topics, which involved students with direct, indirect service or advocacy. Presentations delved into, and engaged the audience with diverse issues, such as Poverty in Ontario, Reducing Dog Euthanization Rates, Bridging the Gap between Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Anxiety in Teens, Music for Wellness for Seniors. Other topics dealt with Recycling, Natural Medicines, Inspiring Children to Write Literature and The Global Refugee Crisis. The completion of these projects was possible due to the unconditional help and support of all our teachers. Huge thanks to them! Finally, Congratulations to the Grade 8 Class of 2018!
